Holi 2024: No Pool Parties in Noida! Check Rules

Banquet halls, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), societies, farmhouses, and restaurants in Noida and Greater Noida have been instructed to ensure that event organizers apply for occasional bar licenses if they intend to serve liquor on their premises on Holi.

Holi 2024: No Pool Parties in Noida! Check Rules

Following the footsteps of Bengaluru, Noida residents are set to experience a dry Holi this year. As the festive season approaches, it’s time for Noida folks to devise alternative Holi plans. The Noida administration has taken a firm stance by issuing an order prohibiting parties in swimming pools at any commercial establishment during this year’s Holi celebrations. Here’s a rundown of what’s permitted and what’s not.

According to a report by TOI, individuals interested in organizing rain dance events or similar festivities must obtain prior permission from the authorities. The directive underscores that pools may only be utilized for swimming purposes and not for any other activities. Additionally, residential societies, sports academies, schools, clubs, and hotels housing swimming pools will face penalties if they host pool parties.

The sports department disclosed that over 300 No Objection Certificates (NOCs) were granted to swimming pools during the fiscal year 2023-24. An official highlighted, “Societies frequently host Holi parties in pools every year, flouting the rules and regulations governing swimming pools. Furthermore, organizing pool parties poses a risk of injury to attendees.”

In preparation for the festivities, authorities have designated 969 sites in the commissionerate areas for ‘Holika Dahan.’ Noida police have bolstered security measures with approximately 5,000 police personnel and three companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) deployed on the ground. Deputy commissioners, assistant DCPs, and assistant commissioners are leading flag marches in their respective jurisdictions.

As part of traffic management efforts, authorities have erected barricades at borders and road junctions. Additionally, breath analyzers and police outposts will be set up to ensure road safety.

Banquet halls, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), societies, farmhouses, and restaurants in Noida and Greater Noida have been instructed to ensure that event organizers apply for occasional bar licenses if they intend to serve liquor on their premises.

Officials have emphasized vigilant monitoring of social media activities and swift action against individuals spreading false information online. Therefore, it’s imperative to exercise caution while sharing content on social media platforms amidst the Holi fervor.
