‘I Fully Support The Bill’: BJP Leader Suvendu Adhikari In The West Bengal Assembly

On behalf of the BJP, I, as Leader of the Opposition, fully support this bill named the Aparajita Women and Child West Bengal Criminal Laws Amendment Bill 2024.

Speaking in the Vidhan Sabha, Suvendu Adhikari says, “we want immediate execution of the law’.

“We will wait for this bill to be converted into rules and put into effect. You’ve rushed this bill through and could have questioned whether it was reviewed by the law committee, but I won’t say that now. We demand the immediate implementation of this bill and expect results. We fully support it,” said Adhikari.

The BJP leader also criticized the West Bengal government, accusing it of trying to divert attention from serious issues. He pointed to the recent rape and murder of a woman in a government facility and the protests that followed, involving both the public and doctors. He claimed that the state is using the bill as a distraction from these urgent matters, noting that doctors have been protesting throughout the night, seeking a formal response from the authorities.
