Arvind Kejriwal stated on Saturday that complaints would be filed against CBI and ED personnel. In response, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju questioned whether the Delhi Chief Minister would also file a lawsuit against the court if the court found him guilty. Rijiju added that the legal system need to be allowed to run its course.
“Forgot to mention that you will file case against Honble court also if it convicts you. Let law takes it own course & we must believe in rule of law,” Rijiju took to Twitter to post. Kejriwal tweeted on Saturday, “We will file appropriate cases against CBI and ED officials for perjury and producing false evidence in courts.”
At a news conference held in the nation’s capital today, Kejriwal announced that he will be present for the CBI’s interrogation of Apirl16 after receiving a summons from the investigation body a day prior in connection with the excise policy case. Since the day he spoke out against corruption in the Delhi assembly, Kejriwal allegedly knew he would be the next person the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) would call for an interview.
“Central agencies are lying to courts against us in the liquor policy probe. Arrested people are being tortured, pressure is being created on them to nail us,” he said.
“The CBI has falsely accused Manish Sisodia in the liquor policy case. People were beaten to obtain false statements. The agencies are torturing people for evidence. This was a great policy to eradicate corruption,” Kejriwal added. He said that if Arvind Kejriwal is corrupt then “there is no one in this world who is honest”.
Manish Sisodia, a major adviser to Kejriwal and the former deputy chief minister of Delhi, is currently imprisoned for alleged violations in the excise policy case. In connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged anomalies in the formulation and application of Delhi’s excise policy, Sisodia was detained by the ED and CBI.
