As Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal prepares to attend the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons concerning the excise policy case, the AAP leader has penned a letter to the investigative agency, branding the notice as “unlawful and driven by political motives.” The political leader asserted on Thursday that the summons was dispatched at the BJP’s insistence with the aim of impeding his electoral campaign in four states. He called upon the Enforcement Directorate to promptly retract the summons. Arvind Kejriwal was called in for interrogation by the ED regarding the purported excise policy scandal.
In the matter, Kejriwal had undergone questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) six months ago. The AAP had previously voiced concerns that Kejriwal could potentially become the initial target for arrest in the BJP’s purported strategy to focus on prominent INDIA alliance leaders in advance of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
