India’s weather agency, IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) has predicted rain in various districts of Himachal Pradesh over the next five days.
A yellow alert has been issued for the districts of Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Sirmaur, Shimla, Una, Bilaspur, and Hamirpur.

As per senior Scientist of IMD Himachal Pradesh Sandeep Kumar Sharma, light to moderate rain was observed in most places over the past 24 hours.
He also revealed that Una, Solan, and Hamirpur experienced heavy rainfall, with Una receiving the most at 100 mm. Bilaspur and Nadaun also saw substantial rainfall, with Nadaun recording 72 mm. Additionally, Solan and Kasauli were also affected by significant rains.
Moreover, Sharma also added that, ‘Over the next five to six days, moderate rainfall is expected in many mid-hill areas. From August 12 to 14, parts of Solan, Sirmaur, and Una districts are likely to see heavy rains. After August 15, most areas will experience light to moderate rain. A yellow alert has been issued for these regions.’

He also mentioned that Sirmaur, Solan, and Shimla are expected to experience fog and poor visibility due to low-level clouds, with temperatures remaining below normal. Residents are advised to stay alert, especially in areas under the yellow alert.
