“India Can Tackle Any Disaster Under PM Modi’s Leadership”: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised India’s disaster resilience under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the country can now tackle any disaster effectively. Shah emphasized that the government, guided by a zero-casualty approach, has developed robust early warning systems and prompt response forces, resulting in saving millions of lives during calamities.

Amit Shah shared his views through a series of posts on social media, stating, “Powered by the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi, Bharat today can tackle any disaster. Due to the Modi government’s Mission Zero Casualty, even the devastating force of the Biparjoy Cyclone couldn’t take away any life from us.”

He highlighted that the Modi government introduced a multi-dimensional Disaster Management Plan, leading to the establishment of prompt response forces and vigilant early warning systems. The Home Minister emphasized the commitment to building a disaster-resilient India with a zero-casualty approach.

Shah mentioned that disaster response teams now operate with the goal of securing every life, and millions of people in the country have been trained in disaster management. This training not only boosted the morale of forces but also made Indian society more capable of effectively combating disasters.

Underlining the significance of disaster management, Shah stated that PM Modi harnessed the power of India’s youth to build a disaster-resilient nation. The first National Disaster Management Plan (NDMP), aligned with the Sendai Framework of Action, was released by PM Modi in June 2016. The plan aims to make India disaster-resilient and reduce the loss of lives and assets through comprehensive coverage of prevention, mitigation, response, and recovery phases of disaster management.
