India News Manch: ‘I.N.D.I Alliance Is Intact And Will Remain Intact,’ Says Congress’ Pramod Tiwari On BJP’s Internal Struggles And Upcoming Elections

iTV Network is hosting India’s biggest political conclave in the national capital. India News’ Manch, a prominent platform for high-level discussions on major contemporary issues, will be a central feature of the event. The conclave will address a range of topics, from the new budget introduced by the recently formed NDA government to pressing national issues and future plans for a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.

Joining the panel is Pramod Tiwari who is a congress veteran and the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha with senior anchor Anjali Mudgal from India News. Tiwari will shed light on the politics of Uttar Pradesh, address budget-related issues, and examine the Congress party’s stance on the budget.

On BJP’s Internal Struggles

To begin with, Pramod Tiwari was asked, about the political situation in Uttar Pradesh which has raised concerns, with some suggesting that things were not going well within the UP BJP and that the Congress party might have been responsible for this.

To which he replied, “If there is a fire in your own house, it is not right to blame others. If there is a meeting of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister does not attend, we have not done anything about it. Now, it is a different matter; we should not hide the fact that we are happy with what is happening, but we have no role in it. The Chief Minister is not being allowed to form the cabinet as he wishes, and he has also said in the Lok Sabha that ticket allocations are not being handled according to his preferences. If Modi ji wants to blame the Chief Minister for the defeat, he is welcome to do so. But what I want to say is that the internal climate of BJP is not in a good state and the people of UP are responsible for this who have given the BJP 33 seats in this elections.”

I.N.D.I Alliance and the Upcoming Vidhan Sabha Elections

Further in the conversation, it was asked whether the Congress party would fight the Vidhan Sabha elections in some states as part of a coalition or on its own. On this, he iterated his views and said, “Look, our India Alliance is formed and wherever a party has a greater influence, its share will certainly be larger there. Maharashtra is coming up first, followed by four other states. In these states, we will maintain the formula that our India Alliance is intact and will remain intact.”

He further expressed, “We will fight the elections together because this is not our decision; it is the decision of the people of India. When the India Alliance was formed, it increased our vote percentage, and our seats, and provided an alternative to the BJP. Respecting the people’s mandate, we will fight the Vidhan Sabha elections together.”

On the question of the by-elections taking place in 10 states and whether the Congress party and Samajwadi Party will contest them together, Pramod Tiwari shared his views and said:” I am confident that these 10 by-elections we will fight together.”

On NEET Paper Leak

The discussion further centered around the NEET paper leak and other exam leaks in Uttar Pradesh. Was this a factor in the youth’s dissatisfaction with the BJP, and did it contribute to the benefits you received? To which he said, “Look, when you run the government, you benefit from its successes and suffer from its failures; this is a well-established fact and not rocket science. In my opinion, the Modi government did not accomplish anything in the past five years that would have increased their seats from 303. Instead, there were certain issues that created dissatisfaction among the people, which is why their numbers fell from 303 to 240.”
