Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday urged the country’s young, energised brains to come up with fresh ideas and discoveries to assist the government in making India a developed nation by 2047, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned.
On Saturday, he spoke at the convocation ceremony of Gopal Narayan Singh University in the Rohtas district of Bihar. According to Rajnath Singh, India has entered its golden age and is accelerating at an unparalleled rate to become a developed nation by the end of ‘Amrit Kaal’ in 2047.
“India’s economy has grown at a tremendous level. India has joined the top 5 economies of the world. According to Morgan Stanley report, India will be counted among the top 3 economies of the world by 2027,” the Defence Minister told.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also discussed the evolution of the country’s start-up ecosystem, stating that the number of start-ups has risen to about one lakh now, including over 100 unicorns, from just 500 seven-eight years ago.
“The youth has the potential and capability to take the nation to greater heights and contribute to the betterment of humanity,” he highlighted. Rajnath Singh also advised students to prioritise connecting with the country’s customs, beliefs, and traditions above getting education and information.
“Your values are not only your identity in the world, but it is also that of your parents, teachers and the country,” he said.
The Defence Minister urged the students to focus on character development, emphasising that in India, a person’s worth is measured not only by his or her knowledge but also by values and behaviour, as well as how skillfully that expertise is employed.
“Ego, overconfidence and self-centred attitude are some of the biggest roadblocks to growth,” He went on to say that the goal should be to move forward, bringing everyone along for the ride.
Rajnath Singh encouraged pupils to continue spiritually nurturing themselves, while educational institutions nurtured them academically and mentally.
He additionally argued those in the educational field to keep the eternal flame of learning burning in the hearts and brains of students. He regarded it as the most important aspect of an individual’s personality since it assures not only personal progress but also the development of society.
