Indian Embassy in Lebanon Urges Nationals to Leave Amid Rising Tensions

The Indian Embassy in Lebanon has advised all Indian nationals to leave Lebanon immediately due to escalating tensions following a recent rocket attack in the Golan Heights. The embassy has also urged against traveling to Lebanon until further notice.

“In light of recent developments and potential threats in the region, Indian nationals are strongly advised not to travel to Lebanon and to leave the country if they are currently there,” the Indian Embassy stated.

Indian nationals residing in Lebanon have been advised to exercise extreme caution, limit their movements, and stay in close contact with the Indian Embassy in Beirut. The embassy can be reached via email at cons.beirut@mea.gov.in or the emergency phone number +96176860128.

Tensions in the region have intensified after a rocket attack on the Golan Heights, allegedly by Hezbollah, which resulted in the deaths of 12 children. In retaliation, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that top Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr was killed in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon. Shukr, a senior Hezbollah military leader, was known for overseeing advanced weaponry and planning attacks against Israel.

Additionally, the IDF confirmed that Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif was killed in an airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip on July 13. This confirmation follows the recent death of Hamas’ political leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was reportedly killed in Tehran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that Israel has delivered significant blows to its adversaries in recent days.
