Strengthening its bond with civil society and aiming to raise awareness about its crucial role in safeguarding the nation’s maritime security, the Indian Navy will host a Half Marathon in New Delhi on October 6, as per a press release by the Navy.
The Half Marathon aims not only to promote physical fitness but also to encourage participants from all backgrounds to adopt an active lifestyle for their overall well-being. Moreover, the event will emphasize values such as gender equality, women empowerment, and inclusivity.
By involving individuals from diverse backgrounds, the Indian Navy seeks to underscore its commitment to fostering inclusiveness and equal opportunities for all members of society.
Additionally, the Half Marathon will serve as a platform to promote camaraderie and competition, fostering stronger bonds among people in the National Capital Region (NCR) and beyond. It also aims to inspire youth to pursue an adventurous path by considering a career in the Indian Navy.
The event will feature races of various lengths, including a Half Marathon (21.1 km), as well as 10 km and 05 km runs, catering to participants of all ages and fitness levels.
The Indian Navy plans to make this event an annual affair, aligning with similar events conducted by the Navy in Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, and Kochi.
