Indian Navy Conducts Operational Exercise in Arabian Sea, Showcasing Readiness

Officials revealed that in a recently concluded exercise in the Arabian Sea, eight submarines operated together along the Western Seaboard, showcasing their high operational readiness levels.

According to a post on X by the Western Naval Command, Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh oversaw the units at sea and assessed the exercise’s execution. He commended the team for their professionalism and excellent performance.

“As part of the demonstration, the Vice-Admiral also observed the submerging of the submarine and followed the submariners’ tradition by tasting the sea water,” the post mentioned.

During a media address on Saturday, Navy Chief Admiral Hari Kumar discussed the completion of a hundred days of naval operations focusing on anti-drone, anti-missile, and anti-piracy efforts in the Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, and Red Sea. He emphasized the Navy’s commitment to taking proactive measures to prevent such incidents.

“Piracy has reemerged as an industry taking advantage of regional disorder. We will take proactive steps to counter it,” stated Admiral Kumar.

He also highlighted the significance of Operation Sankalp in dispelling the notion of quick operations and emphasized the importance of sustained efforts for ocean safety and stability. Admiral Kumar noted the intense pace of operations with 11 submarines and 30 warships deployed across various oceanic regions for comprehensive coverage.
