Indians Gather for Second Operation Ajay Flight, Commend Government for Initiative

At the Tel Aviv airport, the second group of Indian passengers was seen gathering to board a specially arranged flight back to India as part of the ongoing Operation Ajay, initiated amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Among these passengers were primarily Indian residents and workers in Israel, who openly expressed their appreciation for the Indian government’s proactive approach during these challenging times.

One of the passengers, Ashish Kumar, emphasized the significance of the government’s actions, stating, “I think this is a very commendable step taken by the Indian government. I have noticed that only European countries have been evacuating their citizens, so I truly value and commend the government for their efforts.”

Echoing similar sentiments, another passenger, Wagesh Dwiwedi, fondly recalled the government’s past endeavors during the Russia-Ukraine war, affirming, “Operation Ajay is indeed a positive and much-needed move, and I truly admire the government for taking this step. It’s worth noting that such missions have been conducted by the government even during the time of Sushma Swaraj.”

In a unified voice, the returning passengers conveyed their gratitude to the Indian government and reminisced about previous evacuation efforts during the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Alkesh Hada, one of the passengers, expressed gratitude, saying, “We are grateful to PM Modi and EAM Jaishankar for Operation Ajay. It is reassuring to witness the smooth execution of this initiative.”

Furthermore, following the safe arrival of the first flight, carrying 212 Indian passengers as part of Operation Ajay, in Delhi, the returning individuals expressed heartfelt thanks to the Indian government for facilitating their repatriation. Notably, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar was present at the airport to extend a warm welcome to the returning passengers. He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Indian citizens, emphasizing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains resolute in protecting their interests.

Meanwhile, the Indian Ambassador to Israel, Sanjeev Singla, reassured that the Indian Embassy in Israel is actively engaged in safeguarding the well-being of Indian nationals and coordinating their safe return under “Operation Ajay.”

Amidst the escalating conflict, the Israel Defence Forces emphasized the urgent need for the evacuation of Gaza. Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus of the Israeli Defence Forces shared the sobering news of an increasing death toll resulting from the ongoing Hamas attacks. He emphasized the intricate and arduous process of identification and retrieval of the deceased, underlining the unprecedented nature of the current situation for Israel.
