Intelligence Agencies Monitor Protesters’ Movements Amid Delhi Chaos Concerns

Central intelligence agencies are closely monitoring the movements of protesters heading to Delhi following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Concerns have been raised over the possibility of anti-social elements exploiting the protests to incite chaos in the national capital.

A senior official confirmed that intelligence agencies are closely tracking the movements of protesters, particularly from Punjab, as several AAP leaders have called for protests and urged workers from other states to join them. There is apprehension that individuals with malicious intent may join the protests, prompting heightened vigilance.

“We are in constant communication with state police to monitor protester movements. Given the ongoing farmer protests, police and intelligence agencies are already on high alert. We are coordinating with Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana police to prevent any disruption in the national capital,” stated the official.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited Kejriwal’s residence on Friday to meet his family members following the arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with an alleged liquor policy scam.

In response to Kejriwal’s arrest, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called for widespread protests in Delhi and other parts of the country. While reports indicate the arrival of party workers from Punjab and other states, intelligence agencies are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any disturbances in Delhi.

“Central forces have been deployed in coordination with state police to maintain order during the protests. Section 144 has been imposed at the DDU Marg and outside the ED office in anticipation of potential unrest orchestrated by anti-social elements,” the official added.

During the protests outside the AAP office, AAP leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi were detained by the authorities.
