International Leaders Extend Condolences Over Tragic Train Accident in Odisha

In a heart-wrenching incident that has left the nation in mourning, a train accident in the eastern Indian state of Odisha has claimed the lives of numerous individuals and left hundreds injured. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ of Nepal, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry, and Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen have all expressed their grief and offered their sympathies to the families of the victims and the Indian government.

Nepal’s Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ conveyed his deep condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the bereaved families, emphasizing the shared grief felt across borders.

Meanwhile, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong expressed solidarity with those affected by the tragedy, expressing her thoughts for the injured and admiration for the emergency personnel involved in the rescue efforts.

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry also expressed his sadness and conveyed his hopes for a swift recovery for all those impacted by the accident, reaffirming Sri Lanka’s solidarity with India during this distressing time. The train accident occurred when the Coromandel Express, en route to Chennai, collided with derailed coaches of another train traveling from Yeswanthpur to Howrah. The devastating impact resulted in a significant loss of life and left numerous individuals injured. As the Indian authorities continue their rescue operations and investigation into the incident, the international community stands in unity, sharing in the sorrow of this tragic event.
