On Saturday, Israel’s Ambassador to India, Naor Gilon, affirmed his country’s determination to respond to the rocket attack and hold those responsible accountable to prevent further assaults. Gilon stated, “Israel will retaliate. Israel will pursue the perpetrators to ensure they cannot commit such atrocities again.”
Gilon also described the grim situation that unfolded after the terrorist attack, emphasizing that Hamas, the Gaza-based terrorist organization, conducted a dual assault involving rocket attacks on Israeli civilians and ground attacks by terrorists targeting the civilian population, resulting in casualties among children, women, and the elderly. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India for their strong moral support to Israel, vowing that Israel would prevail.
Previously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed solidarity with Israel in response to the rocket strikes by Hamas, offering thoughts and prayers to the innocent victims and their families. He posted on X, “Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour.”
The death toll in Israel from the Hamas rocket attack has risen to 40, according to The Times of Israel, citing the Magen David Adom emergency service. Over 700 individuals have been injured, with 779 people hospitalized, as reported by the Health Ministry.
The escalation came after a barrage of rockets struck southern and central Israel, following a “surprise attack” by Hamas on Saturday morning. Terror cells from Gaza infiltrated several communities in the southern part of the country, as per Times of Israel.
Numerous world leaders have condemned the heinous attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists. Israel has declared a state of war in response to the infiltration by Hamas fighters and missile attacks from Gaza.
The Israel Defense Forces initiated Operation ‘Iron Swords’ in response to Hamas’s surprise attack on Israel, as reported by the Times of Israel. The IDF is targeting Hamas facilities in Gaza.
The Israeli military is engaged in combat with Hamas terrorists in various locations in Southern Israel near the Gaza Strip border, including the towns of Kfar Aza, Sderot, Sufa, Nahal Oz, Magen, Be’eri, and the Re’im military base, according to The Times of Israel.
