Radheshyam Sharma, Director of Jaipur Meteorological Centre, on Friday said that the monsoon will stay active in Rajasthan for the next five to seven days.
He also stated the formation of a new low-pressure system in Jharkhand, which is expected to impact various regions of Rajasthan in the coming days.
While speaking with ANI, Sharma said, “A new low-pressure system is formed over Jharkhand. And in the next 24 hours, it will get more intense.
After this, it will gradually pass through Eastern India, cross Madhya Pradesh and reach Eastern Rajasthan by August 3-4. A new spell of rain will begin in Eastern Rajasthan after 24 hours.
Its effect will start in many districts of South-East Rajasthan, i.e. Kota and Udaipur divisions by August 3. The maximum impact of this system will be on August 3 and 4.”
He added, “During this period, there is a strong possibility of extremely heavy rainfall in the areas of Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer and Udaipur divisions.
And Kota, Udaipur may report extremely heavy rainfall, that is, more than 200 mm of rain is likely to occur in Eastern Rajasthan on August 4.”

further informed that the new system will get active in Western Rajasthan whose impact will be seen from August 3-4.
“Monsoon will remain active in Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions till August 6. In maximum areas, rainfall will be moderate and in some places heavy rains may occur.
Overall, for the next five to seven days, Monsoon will be active in many areas of Rajasthan.” Sharma further said that an Orange alert has been issued by the Jaipur Meteorological Centre.
“In the districts of Bikaner division, and in areas near Churu, there is a possibility of heavy rain. An Orange alert is being issued for the areas of the Jodhpur division, like Pali, Jalore, Jaisalmer, and Barmer, during the next 24 hours.
These areas have been witnessing rainfall since morning and will continue in those areas for the next 24 hours.”
Sharma also spoke about rainfall in the past two days and said, “In the last 48 hours, monsoon has been active in several areas in the Eastern Rajasthan.
If we see in the last 24 hours also, monsoon has been active in many areas of Jaipur division, Bharatpur division, Kota division, as well as Shekhawati areas. At the same time, heavy rain has been reported in some places.
Heavy rain has been reported in the Bikaner division and areas of Jodhpur in Western Rajasthan. If we see, maximum rainfall, 195 mm, was reported in Western Rajasthan’s Khajuwala in Bikaner.
In Eastern Rajasthan, maximum rainfall, 141 mm, was reported in the Savai-Madhopur area.
