Janasena Clears, Pawan Kalyan Supports TDP but Stays in NDA

The clarification comes after Pawan Kalyan expressed full support for the TDP and its jailed leader Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday.

Janasena Clears, Pawan Kalyan Supports TDP but Stays in NDA

The Jana Sena, led by actor-politician Pawan Kalyan, has issued a clarification stating that Pawan Kalyan is not leaving the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) but is extending support to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) during its time of need.

Janasena clarified on Thursday that Pawan Kalyan, during his speech in Krishna district, did not announce his departure from the NDA. Bolisetty Satyanarayana, State General Secretary and spokesperson of the Janasena Party explained, “Pawan Kalyan said, though I’m in the NDA, I’m coming out to say that we will support the TDP as they are weak now. This does not mean that he is leaving the NDA; it means that despite being a part of the NDA, Kalyan will support TDP as they are facing challenges.”

Satyanarayana further emphasized, “So, I want to clarify this to the people that we are very much with NDA, and we are going to be with TDP also. We’re with TDP as its experience is needed to defeat the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh.”

This clarification comes after Pawan Kalyan expressed full support for the TDP and its jailed leader Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday. Kalyan emphasized the TDP’s importance for good governance and the development of Andhra Pradesh.

In the last assembly election in Andhra Pradesh in 2019, Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena won just one seat with 5.6% of the vote share, while the TDP secured 23 seats with 39.7% of the vote share. The YSRCP dominated the polls, winning 151 seats with 50.6% of the vote share.

Meanwhile, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu remains in judicial custody after his remand was extended until October 19 by the Vijayawada ACB court.
