Following heavy rains earlier in the week, Amarnath Yatra was suspended along the Pahalgam and Baltal routes in Jammu and Kashmir due to severe weather conditions on Tuesday.
Talking to ANI, a devotee from Bihar, Ashish said ‘We learned that the Yatra has been temporarily halted. We received information that it might resume today. We are hopeful to complete the pilgrimage.’
Further, he also praised the security personnel for their support, saying ‘The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and all the local police authorities here are cooperating with the pilgrims. We are getting good treatment.’

But, another devotee from Gujarat expressed disappointment, after he learnt that the Yatra has been suspended for two days. But, he hoped that the yatra will restart today.
Meanwhile, the Amarnath yatra is conducted by by the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and it is divided into two routes- one via Pahalgam and the other through Baltal in the Ganderbal district of Kashmir. Baltal serves as the camping area for pilgrims.
However this year, the Amarnath Yatra is occurring amid a significant rise in terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
