Prime Minister Modi launched multiple development projects in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur worth Rs 5,000 crore on Thursday.
Prime Minister Modi dedicated two significant rail projects to the nation, involving the expansion of the ‘Degana-Rai Ka Bagh’ rail line, spanning 145 kilometres, and the ‘Degana-Kuchaman City’ rail line, covering 58 kilometres.
The newly introduced Runicha Express will now connect Jaisalmer to Delhi, while a heritage train line will link Marwar Junction to Khambli Ghat, enhancing connectivity in the region.
The list of inaugurated projects further encompassed a state-of-the-art ‘Trauma Centre and Critical Care Hospital Block’ at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Jodhpur, featuring 350 beds. Additionally, seven Critical Care Blocks will be established across Rajasthan under the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM).
Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone for the New Terminal Building at Jodhpur Airport, an ambitious project slated to cost Rs 480 crore.
Furthermore, the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur campus, constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 1,135 crore, was officially dedicated to the nation.
In a bid to enhance infrastructure at the Central University of Rajasthan, the Prime Minister inaugurated a ‘central instrumentation laboratory,’ staff quarters, and a ‘yoga & sports sciences building.’ He also marked the initiation of the Central Library, a 600-capacity Hostel, and a student dining facility.
Additionally, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for numerous road development projects, collectively valued at around Rs 1,475 crore. The Jodhpur Ring Road project, a crucial endeavour, is anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce vehicular emissions within the city.
