Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. Justice Jamdar took oath of office on Thursday, September 26, at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan administered the oath ceremony.
Other special guests at the ceremony were Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other dignitaries, including Speaker A.N. Shamseer, Law Minister P. Rajeeve, and Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan.
Justice Jamdar has succeeded Justice Ashish Jitendra Desai. Following the Supreme Court’s Collegium’s recommendation, he was appointed on September 21. Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan read out the warrant of appointment during the ceremony.

Justice Jamdar hails from Maharashtra and is a legal professional. He began his judicial career as a judge of the Bombay High Court on January 23, 2012. He has also played a pivotal role in modernizing and digitalizing the judiciary at the Bombay High Court.
He has also represented various public bodies, such as municipal corporations, universities, and zilla parishad. He has served as senior standing counsel for the Union of India.
