Karnataka Assembly polls: Rahul Gandhi rides pillion on delivery boy’s scooter to reach Bengaluru hotel

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, travelled to his hotel while riding pillion on a delivery boy’s scooter hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi finished his massive roadshow in Bengaluru on Sunday, standing on a vehicle decked out in flowers, with large crowds lining the streets and dousing him with petals.

Prior to the May 10 Karnataka Assembly elections, Rahul was supposed to hold public meetings in the state capital. He rode pillion on the delivery boy’s scooter for nearly 2 kilometres. With only four days until the Assembly elections, all contending parties are in the final stages of their campaigns and making every effort to win over voters.

In the meantime, PM Modi held a massive roadshow in the city on Sunday, waving to a sizable, jubilant crowd that was lining up on both sides of the road. The Kempegowda statue on New Tippasandra Road served as the starting point of the PM’s roadshow, which ended at Trinity Circle.

On the final leg of the campaign for the single-phased elections on May 10, a roadshow that is nearly 10 kilometres long and taking place in Bengaluru for the second straight day is anticipated to improve the BJP’s poll prospects.

Drums were among the musical instruments that the large crowds played as they lined the streets to see PM Modi. Earlier on Saturday, PM Modi conducted a roadshow covering nearly 13 constituencies over a distance of about 26 km.

A massive roadshow was also held on Sunday in the Belagavi South constituency by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Amit Shah’s vehicle was surrounded by a sizable group of BJP supporters who also escorted the procession. The people waiting for him in the queue on either side of the road waved and said hello to Shah.

The voting in Karnataka will take place on May 10 and the results will be announced on May 13. Karnataka is in the midst of a flurry of rallies, meetings with the general public, and other interactions in preparation for the 10 May elections.
