Kejriwal reaches CBI headquarters, AAP workers detained while protesting

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal arrived at the CBI office for questioning in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, amid heightened security.

On Sunday, April 16, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal arrived at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office for questioning in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, amid heightened security. Before arriving at the agency headquarters, the AAP leader addressed the residents outside his home, stating that he will “cooperate and give truthful answers.”

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers were detained by Delhi Police on Sunday while protesting in support of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ahead of his appearance before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Delhi excise policy.

The AAP workers chanted slogans in support of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. In response to the AAP’s protest, the national capital has seen a heavy deployment of forces. On Sunday, CM Kejriwal met with top AAP leaders ahead of his appearance before the central agency in the Delhi excise policy case.

The meeting took place at Kejriwal’s home. Several Delhi ministers attended the meeting, including Atishi, Kailash Gahlot, Rajkumar Anand, Gopal Rai, and Imran Hussain.

The meeting was also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan and Punjab Assembly Speaker Sardar Kultar Singh Sandhwan. AAP MPs Raghav Chadha and ND Gupta, as well as Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, attended the meeting at Kejriwal’s residence.
