Based on a complaint filed by left independent MLA PV Anvar, the crime branch police team raided the Asianet News office, one of the leading news channels in Malayalam.
The channel telecasted a report titled ‘Narcotics is a dirty business ‘ on November 10. The MLA claimed that the report was fabricated and filed a written complaint with the DGP.
Based on this, the police opened an investigation and charged four Asianet employees. SFI activists stormed the Asianet office in Kochi two days ago. Today’s raid by Assistant Commissioner V. Suresh of the Crime Branch and seven cops is a continuation of the incidents.
A case was filed under the provisions of the POCSO and the Indian Penal Code.
