A senior doctor has revealed that the autopsy report of the doctor raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital indicates the presence of multiple assailants, further igniting widespread national outrage.
Dr. Subarna Goswami, a former student of RG Kar Medical College, who reviewed the autopsy report, revealed that it suggests multiple instances of sexual assault. “The autopsy report is proof of the brutality she had to encounter, the presence of more than one person, and that she was sexually assaulted more than once. This is bestiality at its worst,” he told PTI.

The report clarifies that the victim’s injuries were inflicted before her death, contradicting claims that the assault occurred post-mortem. “Homicidal injuries are antemortem in nature with indications of sexual penetration,” the report confirms.
The document details numerous injuries on the victim’s body, including on her lips, nose, cheeks, and lower jaw. The report also describes severe injuries to the temporal bone of her skull, with blood coagulation on the frontal area. The victim was strangled and then suffocated.
Additionally, the report highlights that the victim was subjected to severe genital torture, described as “perverted sexuality.” Her mouth was covered, and her head was forced against a wall or floor to prevent her from calling for help. The body, marked by bleeding from her eyes, mouth, and private parts, was found in a seminar hall at the hospital on the morning of August 9.
A civic volunteer has been arrested in connection with the case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently handling the investigation.
