Kolkata Rape-Murder Case: Accused Sanjay Roy Revealed Details Of The Incident

In a shocking incident at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital, Sanjay Roy, the prime accused in the brutal assault and murder of a young doctor, has reportedly confessed to the crime after 48 hours of police interrogation. According to police sources, Roy provided a detailed account of the events that transpired on the night of the attack.

Roy, who returned to Kolkata on Thursday morning, was seen entering RG Kar Hospital at around 10:00 pm the same night. By 11:00 pm, he had begun the process of admitting a patient to the fourth floor of the hospital. Surveillance footage revealed that Roy left the fourth floor around 11:45 pm, taking the elevator down without accompanying any patient.

Between 1:30 and 3:30 am, Roy was reportedly seen drinking behind the hospital premises. At 4:03 am, he re-entered the hospital and, finding the elevator closed, took the stairs to the fourth floor. Upon reaching the operation theater and finding it empty, he ventured into the seminar hall where he encountered the young doctor.

According to Roy’s confession, he initially attempted to molest the doctor. When she resisted and tried to call for help, Roy violently attacked her, pressing her face and slamming her head onto the ground. The brutal assault left the doctor in a near-death state, known as the Perimortem Stage, due to severe head injuries and the pressure applied by Roy.

Taking advantage of her unconscious state, Roy allegedly raped the doctor before leaving the hospital at 4:37 am. He then reportedly made his way to Police Barrack Number Four, where he remained until his arrest.

The police are continuing their investigation into the case, gathering further evidence and questioning other potential witnesses. The incident has sent shockwaves through the medical community and the city at large, with calls for swift justice for the victim.

Roy is expected to face multiple charges, including murder and sexual assault. The authorities are also investigating how Roy, who was not a hospital employee, gained access to restricted areas of the hospital and managed to carry out the heinous act without being detected.
