Mahakumbh 2025: Uttar Pradesh Ministers To Invite Leaders Across India

As preparations intensify for the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025, Uttar Pradesh ministers have been entrusted with extending invitations to governors and chief ministers across the country. The guest list reflects the Mahakumbh’s inclusive appeal, featuring leaders from diverse political backgrounds, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Massive Coordination for a Grand Event

Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya are among the prominent leaders tasked with inviting dignitaries. Pathak is expected to visit Maharashtra and Rajasthan, while Maurya will travel to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna is scheduled to visit Karnataka and Delhi, while other ministers have been assigned regions to ensure all states are represented.

“Most of the ministers are coordinating with the dignitaries in different states, seeking appointments to complete their assignments,” said an official aware of the developments.

Prime Minister’s Upcoming Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the newly created Mahakumbh district on December 13 to review preparations and launch development projects, including the upgraded Prayagraj-Varanasi rail track. The event will mark a significant step in readying the world’s largest religious congregation, which combines faith, culture, and tradition.

Invitations Across the Nation

To ensure comprehensive representation, ministers have been strategically deployed:

  • Tamil Nadu & Kerala: Ministers JPS Rathor, Asim Arun, Sandip Singh, and Ajit Pal.
  • Karnataka: Finance Minister Suresh Khanna.
  • Punjab & West Bengal: Arun Saxena, Sanjay Gangwar, and others.
  • Gujarat: Energy Minister AK Sharma and Kapil Dev Agarwal.
  • Arunachal Pradesh & Nagaland: Ministers Jaiveer Singh and Daya Shankar Mishra ‘Dayalu.’

Baby Rani Maurya will extend the invitation to Uttarakhand, drawing on her prior role as governor of the state.

Beyond domestic coordination, the Uttar Pradesh government plans to hold international roadshows to amplify the Mahakumbh’s global appeal. These roadshows aim to attract visitors from abroad, enhancing the event’s cultural and spiritual significance.

A Historic Gathering

The Mahakumbh, set to commence on January 13, 2025, at the Sangam (confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati), will continue until February 26. This religious pilgrimage, held every 12 years, alternates between Haridwar, Ujjain, Nasik, and Prayagraj. This year’s edition is expected to attract millions of visitors from across the globe.

The state’s comprehensive efforts reflect its commitment to making the Mahakumbh 2025 a memorable and inclusive celebration.
