Maharashtra: AquaKraft Unveils Water ATM at Kolhapur Mahalaxmi Temple

AquaKraft introduced the SWACHH-INN initiative on Monday, a novel livelihood-generating innovation, at the renowned Mahalaxmi Temple in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. SWACHH-INN integrates a Water ATM, Hand wash and Pantry services, intending to provide affordable and hygienic water and food options to the public. The implementation of SWACHH-INN was made possible through the sponsorship of RBL Bank as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives.

The management and operation of SWACHH-INN will be overseen by Women Self Help Groups registered under the UMED program of the National Rural Livelihood Mission. This comprehensive model aims to distribute clean drinking water, tea, coffee, and food prepared at the pantry, fostering micro-entrepreneurship and creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.

The inauguration of SWACHH-INN was conducted by Hon’ble Shri Hasan Mushrif, Minister for Medical Education, Government of Maharashtra, and the Guardian Minister of Kolhapur District. The event was attended by distinguished personalities including Rahul Rekhawar IAS, the Collector of Kolhapur, Mahendra Pandit IPS, the Superintendent of Police in Kolhapur, K Manjulekshmi IAS, the Commissioner of Kolhapur Municipal Corporation, Dr. Subramanya Kusnur, Founder Chairman & CEO of AquaKraft Group Ventures, and Adil Faras, among others.

The launch was graced by the presence of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje Maharaj, descendant of Shivaji Maharaj, who lauded the initiative and encouraged its expansion throughout Maharashtra, especially in prominent tourist destinations like the Raigad Fort.

Over 300 devotees and pilgrims were able to access clean drinking water from SWACHH-INN after its inauguration, effectively validating the significance of the initiative.

Sachieen Maney, Director of Operations at AquaKraft, expressed the company’s commitment to developing innovative models leveraging their eco-friendly and energy-efficient water filtration technologies, coupled with sturdy design and precise engineering. Maney extended gratitude to RBL Bank for their trust and partnership, emphasizing the collective goal of achieving meaningful and sustainable social impact.
