Mallikarjun Kharge assures implementation of all 5 promises from Manifesto post Karnataka win

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday assured the people that his party will fulfill all the five promises made to the voters of Karnataka. He said that the party’s manifesto will be implemented once the cabinet is formed.

Congress tried to limit its message during the Karnataka Assembly campaign to regional issues. The Congress placed a lot of emphasis on its five assurances, which are Gruha Jyothi, Gruha Lakshmi, Anna Bhagya, Yuva Nidhi, and Shakti. The party leaders also promised to put these guarantees into effect right away if the Congress wins the election.

Addressing the media, Mallikarjun Kharge said, “People of Karnataka have rejected BJP and brought the Congress party back to power. People have given us a record number of votes. We will implement all 5 promises that we made to the public in our manifesto after we form our cabinet.”

“CLP meeting will be held today and will hand over the report to the high command after which the high command will take its time to declare the name of the Chief Minister of Karnataka,” Mallikarjun Kharge told.

Mallikarjun Kharge appoints three observers to elect Congress Legislative Party leader

For the election of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader in the state, Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday designated three observers in Karnataka, including former Maharashtra chief minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and party leaders Jitendra Singh and Deepak Babaria.

KC Venugopal, through his Twitter handle, stated, “Congress President has deputed Sushil Kumar Shinde (Former Chief Minister, Maharashtra), Jitendra Singh (AICC GS) and Deepak Babaria (former AICC GS) as observers for the election of the Congress Legislative party (CLP) Leader of Karnataka.”

The observers will be in attendance at the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting and will present the high command of the party with their report.

KC Venugopal referred to the Congress party’s significant victory in the Karnataka Assembly elections as a stepping stone he pronounced ‘one of the milestones ahead of the 2024 elections.’ Mentioning the Karnataka win, Venugopal said, “This is one of the milestones of the 2024 elections.”

Venugopal added that Congress won the votes of the people by standing up for state’s impoverished. “The type of divisive politics that BJP does, is not going to be successful every time. This is a clear message. We stood for the poor people of Karnataka. They stood for the rich. Finally, the poor won this election. This is the clear narrative of this election”, he went on to say.

According to the Indian Election Commission, Congress obtained 135 seats, ousting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from office in the only southern state it had previously controlled and improving its own prospects in the next elections. BJP was able to win 66 seats.

JDS (Janata Dal-Secular) won 19 seats. Kalyana Rajya Pragathi Paksha and Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha each won one seat while independents got a total of two seats.
