The Manipur Chief Minister, Biren Singh, has reached out to his Mizoram counterpart, Zoramthanga, to find a resolution to the issue. Meanwhile, a Mizoram MP has written to the Home Minister, Amit Shah seeking the Centre’s intervention in the matter.

Governor’s ‘Shoot at sight’ orders

In an effort to control the situation, the Governor of Manipur has given permission to the local police to use “shoot at sight” orders. This decision has been met with mixed reactions from the public, with some supporting it as a necessary measure to maintain law and order while others have criticized it as a violation of human rights. Ace boxer from Manipur, Mary Kom, has made an emotional appeal to the Centre to help resolve the matter and bring peace to the region.

Amid all this, the Congress party has blamed the ruling Bjp for the violence in Manipur, accusing them of promoting a politics of hate and division. The party has urged the government to take immediate steps to address the situation and work towards a lasting solution.

Internet suspension in Manipur
