Indian politician, actor, and singer Manoj Tiwari graced the India News Manch event held on July 29. The BJP MP defeated Congress candidate Kanhaiya Kumar in the Northeast Delhi Lok Sabha seat by over 1,38,778 votes and won the seat for the third time consecutively.
During the event, when Manoj Tiwari was asked if he has become the favourite of the central government since he was the only MP who remained unchanged in these polls, the politician stated, “It is nothing like that. The one who did not get a ticket is also close to the party. I would be happy if I get the ticket for the third time.”
Manoj Tiwari while shedding light on the Old Rajinder Nagar incident said, “It is not an incident. It is a murder. It is fortunate the city is still up and running despite multiple similar cases. The roads get filled whenever it rains in Delhi. Several complaints were filed but they were ignored. Many key areas in the city is governed by Congress or Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).”
He continued, “Delhi’s current annual budget stands at a staggering Rs. 76,000 Crore. Whereas, seven MP’s from our party have a combined estimate of Rs35 crore. But what’s is the point of this budget? There are no roads, and no proper drainage system.”
Manoj Tiwari while recalling the mishaps in the city, said, “10 years is a lot of time. AAP is governing Delhi for the last one decade. And, therefore, this Old Rajinder Nagar incident should have been addressed within two days. This is not political at all rather is a social crisis.”
Manoj Tiwari while continuing taking a dig at AAP, said, “Pragati Maidan tunnel never gets waterlogged. NDMC is like an island where the water inflow is towards the sewage but those sewages are already blocked. However, why the Pragati Maidan tunnel never faced an issue of waterlogging? Again, this is not a political crisis.”
He added, “Ab toh jaago” while taking a jibe at the opposition. “Even Atishi passed an order to investigate the matter. But where are the reports? Please show us the reports. We are an MP but we are also a human. We feel bad when incidents like these take place.”
When asked why Delhi government always have to seek permission from Lieutenant Governor Manoj Tiwari also recalled how “5000 teachers were transferred overnight.” He shared, “No reason was shared behind the abrupt decision. It was when we asked LG to intervene and it was only then a decision was taken.”
When asked why BJP and AAP work together for the betterment of the city, Manoj Tiwari stated, “We want to unite and have been repeatedly seeking a meeting with all the MPs. I have penned letter for the same. However, I cannot invite Delhi Jal Board since they have been directed not to meet. Same is the case with PWD. It is then you realise how these people have misused the money of people.”
Tiwari added, “We were attacked in AAP’s office when we went there to meet. Kaam karne ki neeyat honi chahiye.” He continued, “You will be embarassed to walk on the roads of Burari, or Kirari or Sonia Vihar or Mustafabad. People even held our collars amid the elections.”
When aske whether Delhi faces water crisis due to more water being given to Haryana, Manoj Tiwari stated that opposition is lying blatantly adding there is no water scarcity. “AAP has not repaired a single pipe in the last 10 years,” said the actor adding, ”
He also claimed Atishi is not in jail or how Sanjay Singh got bail when asked whether they are trying to hold AAP with CBI and ED charges. Manoj Tiwari also shed light on the Delhi elections saying he would like to pray and request to give BJP a chance since there has no progress in the city in the last two decades.
Tiwari also said they are working on how to get 300 units free electricity for Delhi. “We are figuring it out a way. There won’t be no PPSC where one gets free electricity and the other gets a hefty bill. We are saying use solar power. We will install solar power on roofs.”
