Mathura Election Pits ‘Pravasi’ Against ‘Brijwasi’: Congress Nominee Mukesh Dhangar Challenges BJP’s Hema Malini

In a sharp retort aimed at BJP’s Hema Malini, Congress contender Mukesh Dhangar delineated the upcoming Mathura Lok Sabha election as a showdown between “Pravasi” (migrant) and “Brijwasi” factions.

Recently nominated by the Congress party for the Mathura Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh, Dhangar articulated, “This election symbolizes the clash between ‘Pravasi’ and ‘Brijwasi’… It embodies the aspirations of the Brij community.”

Highlighting his resolve to cleanse the Yamuna River, Dhangar vowed, “When prayers are offered to the River Yamuna, I pledge to remain steadfast on its banks until it is purified, regardless of the duration. I harbour no rivalry with anyone.”

Asserting his capacity to outpace Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s work ethic, Dhangar declared, “While the PM claims to work for 18 hours a day, I am prepared to dedicate 23 hours a day to public service.”

Worth noting, the nationwide elections for 543 Lok Sabha seats are slated across seven phases, with the initial phase set for April 19 and the vote count scheduled for June 4.

Uttar Pradesh, boasting the largest MP contingent of 80, will participate in all seven phases. Mathura will cast its ballots in the second phase on April 26.

With approximately 97 crore eligible voters across the nation, polling will occur at 10.5 lakh stations, supervised by 1.5 crore officials and security personnel.

The culmination of the electoral process will unveil the verdict on June 4.
