MoS Muraleedharan reaches Riyadh; to meet Saudi Vice Foreign Minister

V Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs, arrived in Riyadh on Monday on a four-day visit.

V Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs, arrived in Riyadh on Monday on a four-day visit.

“Glad to arrive at beautiful Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on an official visit. The visit is significant as it comes immediately after my trip to Jeddah last week to oversee #OperationKaveri, to which Saudi has been extending an outstanding support,” Muraleedharan said in a tweet. “Look forward to my interactions with Saudi dignitaries, businesses and wider Indian community in Riyadh and Dammam, Saudi Arabia,” he added.

Muraleedharan will meet with his counterpart minister and mingle with the Indian community during his visit.

Muraleedharan was in Jeddah from April 25 to 28 to manage Operation Kaveri, which was designed to evacuate Indian people from Sudan. Nearly 2300 Indians who were evacuated from Sudan have arrived in India. In Riyadh, Muraleedharan will meet Saudi Vice Foreign Minister Waleed Elkhereiji and other dignitaries.

He will mingle with the Indian community in Riyadh and will meet with various Indian diaspora organisations separately.

Muraleedharan is slated to visit Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province on May 3 and meet with the province’s top leadership.

He will also meet with the Indian population in Dammam and Jubail, as well as various business groupings, including Indian firms.
