In the state of Mumbai, another act of terrorism has been revealed. The NIA recently received a correspondence purporting to be a Talibani member who said he was planning to carry out a terrorist assault in Mumbai. The Mumbai Police has now been informed by the NIA of the latest developments. Several cities in Maharashtra have been placed on alert in the interim.
According to Mumbai officials, the person claiming to be a Talibani member stated in the email that there would be a terror attack in Mumbai. Meanwhile, immediately after receiving the threat email, the NIA and Mumbai Police launched a joint investigation to uncover the truth. These threats are common in Mumbai, and an investigation is currently underway in the matter.
Earlier this year, on Tuesday, a threat call was received at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai froman unknown caller who threatened to blow up the school. a similar call was made, and the Maharashtra ATS arrested one person for allegedly calling the Mumbai Police control room and giving false information about a bombing similar to the one that occured in 1993 in Mumbai in two months. The caller also claimed that one INC MLA was involved.
In October of last year, a similar call was received informing about the bombs planted throughout the city. Mumbai police received a ‘suspicious’ call from an unidentified caller informing them that bombs had been planted in several key locations throughout the city.
