In a recent address at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the significance of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. He characterized it as more than just an ordinary law but a declaration of India’s resolute commitment to democracy in the New India era.

He lauded women across the nation for the historic passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill with an overwhelming majority in both Houses of Parliament. PM Modi stated, “The Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam is not an ordinary law; this is a proclamation of the New India’s democratic commitment. This is evidence of Modi’s guarantee of women-led development.”

PM Modi highlighted the transformative potential of this decision and how it marks the realization of a long-awaited dream for the country. He remarked, “Sometimes a decision has the potential to change the destiny of a country. Today we all have become witnesses of one such decision.”

He expressed gratitude for the support of all political parties and Members of Parliament in facilitating the bill’s passage, saying, “The passing of this bill in both houses of the Parliament shows how a country with a majority government can work. We never let anyone’s political self-interests obstruct women’s reservation.”

Reflecting on the BJP-led government’s efforts over the past nine years, PM Modi emphasized the commitment to breaking down barriers and improving the lives of mothers, sisters, and daughters through various schemes and programs. He praised the BJP for its dedication to the welfare of the nation and the fulfillment of the aspirations of countless women. PM Modi stated, “Our government has made such schemes, one after the other and started such programs so that our sisters get a life of respect, convenience, security, and prosperity. Our BJP government has had the privilege of fulfilling the dreams of millions of mothers and sisters. Therefore, as a party that considers the nation first, as BJP workers, as responsible citizens, it is a matter of pride for us.”

During the event, PM Modi received recognition from BJP’s women workers, to whom he paid his respects. BJP national president JP Nadda congratulated PM Modi for the successful passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill. He acknowledged the Prime Minister’s vision, determination, and unwavering intent in ensuring the bill’s timely approval, stating, “Historically significant decisions are being made under the leadership of PM Modi. These decisions, focused on empowering women, will lead to a change in the landscape and destiny of India.”

Nadda also noted that PM Modi’s governance has addressed longstanding issues in a democratic manner while taking multiple steps to empower women. He said, “Along with this, PM Modi has also resolved the long pending problems in the country in a democratic manner.”
