The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) plans to surround Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in protest of Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Kejriwal was detained by the central agency in connection with a money laundering case related to the now-defunct Delhi excise policy and is currently under ED custody until March 28.
According to an advisory, traffic disruptions are expected in the New Delhi area due to special law enforcement measures. The advisory states, “To ensure smooth traffic flow in New Delhi, vehicles will not be allowed to stop or park on Tughlak Road, Safdarjung Road, and Kemal Ataturk Marg. General public entry will be restricted, and vehicles parked on these roads will be towed and penalized for improper parking and disregarding lawful directives.”
In case of necessity, traffic diversions will be implemented at Aurobindo Chowk, Tughlaq Road, Samrat Hotel roundabout, Gymkhana Post Office roundabout, Teen Murti Haifa roundabout, Niti Marg roundabout, and Kautilya Marg roundabout, as per the advisory.
Commuters are advised by the traffic police to avoid Kemal Ataturk Marg, Safdarjung Road, Akbar Road, and Teen Murti Marg to minimize disruptions.
