“Bishnoi Maintained His Grudge”: Ram Gopal Varma On Lawrence Bishnoi’s Threat To Salman Khan

The notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been making headlines following the recent killing of senior Maharashtra leader Baba Siddique. The murder was allegedly claimed by the Bishnoi gang through a social media post, although authorities are still investigating any direct link between Bishnoi and the crime.

Amid the speculation, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma shared his thoughts on the matter, posting on his X handle about Bishnoi’s long-standing grudge against Bollywood actor Salman Khan. He noted that Bishnoi was only five years old when the infamous blackbuck poaching incident occurred in 1998, yet he harbors resentment towards Khan to this day.

“Lawrence Bishnoi was just a 5-year-old kid when the deer was killed in 1998 and Bishnoi maintained his grudge for 25 years. Now, at age 30, he says that his life’s goal is to kill Salman Khan to take revenge for killing that deer. Is this animal love at its peak or god playing a weird joke?” Varma tweeted.

Blackbuck Poaching And Bishnoi Connection

The blackbuck poaching case, which took place during the filming of “Hum Saath-Saath Hain” in Rajasthan, has haunted Salman Khan for over two decades. The Bishnoi community, known for their reverence for wildlife, particularly blackbucks, was deeply angered by the incident.

In 2018, Lawrence Bishnoi publicly threatened Salman Khan during a court appearance in Jodhpur, vowing to kill the actor as revenge for the blackbuck’s death. “We will kill Salman Khan. Everyone will know once we take action,” Bishnoi stated, making his resentment toward the actor clear.

Since then, Salman Khan has been under constant threat from Bishnoi’s gang, culminating in a shooting incident in April 2023. Shots were fired outside Khan’s Bandra residence by alleged Bishnoi gang members, who were later arrested.

Baba Siddique’s Murder And Gang Threats

The assassination of Baba Siddique, a politician known to be close to Salman Khan, added a new layer to the unfolding drama. After Siddique’s murder on October 12, a Facebook post from an account linked to the Bishnoi gang surfaced. The post ominously warned, “Jo Salman Khan aur Dawood gang ki help karega apna hisab-kitab laga ke rakhna” (whoever helps Salman Khan and the Dawood gang, keep your accounts in order).

The post is suspected to have been made by Shubham Rameshwar Lonkar, a suspected Bishnoi gang aide. Siddique, 66, was shot dead by three assailants, heightening fears about Bishnoi’s influence and his gang’s reach.

The Bishnoi Crime Syndicate

Lawrence Bishnoi, now 31 and imprisoned since 2015, runs a vast crime syndicate from behind bars, according to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). His network includes over 700 members, with key figures like Goldy Brar, Sachin Thapan, and Kala Jatheri operating under his command.

The Bishnoi gang has been linked to multiple high-profile cases, including the 2022 assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala. Operating from jails across India and with associates in countries like Canada, Bishnoi’s syndicate also reportedly maintains ties with pro-Khalistani elements.
