The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate) (NEET PG) was successfully conducted at 416 centers across 170 cities on Sunday by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), with a total of 228,540 candidates appearing.
NEET PG 2024 was held in two shifts to select the best and most reputable centers for the exam, according to an official release. Admit cards were issued to 228,540 candidates by NBEMS, an autonomous body of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The release noted that candidates were allotted examination centers within their states whenever possible.
To ensure the safe and smooth conduct of NEET PG, NBEMS established a central command center at its Dwarka office in Delhi. Officials from the Union Health Ministry, NBEMS, and their teams closely monitored the examination process.
More than 1,950 independent appraisers and 300 flying squad members were deployed to the examination centers to oversee the conduct of NEET PG. Additionally, eight regional command centers were set up to supervise the nationwide examination.
To prevent misinformation about the examination, NBEMS closely monitored social media and ensured that only authentic information was provided to stakeholders. The heightened security measures, along with close coordination among various agencies, have ensured the safe and smooth conduct of NEET PG, thereby maintaining the integrity of the examination, according to the ministry.
