Nepal: Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri Offers Prayers At Pashupatinath Temple

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri visited the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, on Monday and offered special prayers. Misri is on a two-day official visit at the invitation of Nepal’s Foreign Secretary, Sewa Lamsal.

Misri arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday with the aim of advancing mutually beneficial cooperation. He was welcomed by Nepali Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal at the VIP Lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

On Monday, Misri met with Nepalese Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli at the Prime Minister’s Office and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar Palace. The two leaders discussed various matters of mutual interest during their meeting.

“The visiting Foreign Secretary of India, Shri Vikram Misri, paid a courtesy call on the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar today. Various matters of mutual interest were discussed on the occasion,” the Nepal Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on X.

Misri’s visit underscores India’s commitment to its Neighbourhood First policy. During the visit, Foreign Secretary Misri will also meet with high-level dignitaries of Nepal.

Additionally, the Foreign Ministry of Nepal stated that the visit is part of the regular exchange of visits between the two friendly neighbors. A source from the Embassy of India in Kathmandu confirmed to ANI that “the visit will be an introductory one and a courtesy call from the Indian Foreign Secretary. No official agreements or decisions will be made during the visit.”
