The NIA has agreed to probe two incidents in Manipur. They are the killing of 10 suspected militants, in an encounter with security forces on November 11, and the brutal killing of a tribal woman, who was set on fire by armed militants on November 7.
Bodies of Missing Assam Family Found
Police sources said the bodies of a woman and two children, whose disappearance was reported after the November 11 encounter, were recovered floating in a river in Assam.
Cases Transferred to NIA
The Manipur Government has transferred cases involving an alleged hand-in-glove encounter between the Manipur Police and one Jawaharlal and the Nongin activist case to the NIA after the Union Home Ministry recommended this course of action.
