Odisha CM Embarks On Four-Day Singapore Visit To Attract Investments

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with Industries Minister Sampad and other state officials, embarked on a four-day trip to Singapore on Saturday. The aim of this visit is to present Odisha as a leading investment destination to international investors.

Highlighting Odisha’s Business Opportunities

Before leaving, the Chief Minister remarked, “Our message will be clear that Odisha is open for business, and we are ready for it.” He pointed out that Singapore’s strengths in sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, green energy, logistics, shipbuilding, financial services, electronics, and semiconductors make it a perfect partner for collaboration. “They have a strong presence in these areas. We will engage with them to attract businesses to Odisha,” he added.

Majhi also stressed that Odisha’s rich resources, skilled workforce, and favorable industrial policies make the state an appealing choice for investors. He stated, “When investors consider investing in India, Odisha will be their top choice for business.”

Roadshow and Engagement with Industry Leaders

The delegation intends to meet with industry leaders, policymakers, and the Odia community to promote the state’s industrial policies and skilled labor force. A roadshow will be organized to showcase Odisha’s resources, vibrant investment climate, and export capabilities. The agenda includes highlighting Odisha’s fully operational ports at Dhamra, Paradip, and Gopalpur, which are vital for global trade.

Gaining Insights from Singapore’s Expertise

The visit will feature tours of Singapore’s industrial and infrastructure facilities, including the Jurong Petrochemicals Region, Tuas Port, and ITEES, to learn about advanced technological practices. The delegation aims to adopt similar strategies in Odisha to enhance its industrial and infrastructure development.

Furthermore, the team will meet with senior Singaporean officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister and representatives from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
