Oil marketing companies have recently announced a reduction in the prices of 19 kg commercial cylinders and 5 kg FTL (Free Trade LPG) cylinders, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder has been decreased by Rs 30.50, bringing the price in Delhi to Rs 1764.50 as of April 1, as reported by sources. Additionally, the price of the 5 kg FTL cylinder has been reduced by Rs 7.50.
This price adjustment comes after oil marketing companies announced a hike in the prices of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) gas cylinders on March 1. These price revisions are often influenced by fluctuations in fuel costs and market dynamics.
Previously, on February 1, the prices of Indane gas cylinders varied across metro cities, with Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai each having distinct rates. However, consumers experienced a noticeable increase in the prices of Indane LPG gas cylinders across all metro cities starting from March 1.
While the specific reasons behind the recent price decrease have not been disclosed, it is likely influenced by various factors such as changes in international oil prices, shifts in taxation policies, and supply-demand dynamics.
These consecutive revisions underscore the volatile nature of the energy market and its implications for households and businesses reliant on commercial LPG cylinders. Such fluctuations highlight the importance of staying informed about price changes and understanding the factors driving them.
