Paramilitary Forces Conduct Flag March in Nuh; Curfew and Internet Suspension Remain in Effect

Paramilitary forces conducted a flag march in Nuh on Thursday as a curfew was imposed in the district following clashes between two groups in the state. The streets were deserted in the area due to the curfew, causing difficulties for the public in procuring ration items from shops.

One local resident expressed their concerns, stating, “We are facing trouble when it comes to procuring ration items. There is an atmosphere of fear around. We are not sending the children outside. We are very scared at night as well, don’t know what will happen,” as reported by ANI.

Another local, who runs a vegetable business, reported that their income has been severely affected since customers are not allowed to make purchases. “I deal in selling vegetables, but for the past 2-3 days, the sales have been affected…If customers don’t come, how will we earn a living? Since nobody is coming, the vegetables are getting spoiled. We are very troubled,” the vendor said.

Tragically, the violence in Nuh has resulted in six deaths, including two Home Guards. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar stated that 116 individuals have been arrested in connection with the violence.

Due to the critical and tense conditions in Haryana’s Nuh, Faridabad, and Palwal districts, along with three sub-divisions of Gurugram, the state government has announced the suspension of mobile internet services in these regions until August 5.

The clashes erupted on Monday afternoon when a religious procession passing through Nuh came under attack, resulting in two Home Guards’ deaths and leaving around 20 policemen and numerous others injured.

In response to the situation, the state government has decided to shift the battalion headquarters of the 2nd IRB from Bhondsi to Nuh to address the urgent need for maintaining law and order.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar assured the public that no accused will be spared, and strict action will be taken to ensure justice for the victims and their families in the aftermath of the violence.

Additionally, State Home Minister Anil Vij highlighted the significant role of social media in fueling the violence in Nuh.
