Following a protest by Opposition MPs over numerous concerns, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned until 2 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on the last day of the Parliament’s Budget Session. Today is the last day of the Budget Session, which has been a total shambles, with the Opposition demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Hindenburg report on the Adani issue and the BJP demanding an apology from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on Savarkar and insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is one of the tallest OBC leaders.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of the party’s 44th foundation day, the BJP convened a Parliamentary board meeting on Thursday. Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, just after the Parliament commenced its final leg of the 2017 Budget Session. Several opposition Lawmakers were also seen in Lok Sabha wearing black clothing.
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned amid opposition sloganeering. The opposition MPs chanted anti-Adani slogans. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were postponed on Monday, just after Parliament resumed its final leg of the 2018 Budget Session after a four-day hiatus. The final phase of the Budget session began on March 13 and has seen numerous adjournments.
