Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing critique of the Congress-led government in Rajasthan on Monday, declaring that the people have firmly decided to oust the Ashok Gehlot regime and reinstate the BJP.
Speaking at the ‘Parivartan Sankalp Mahasabha’ in Jaipur, PM Modi asserted that the Congress administration in the state deserves a resounding zero for its lackluster governance and management.
“The Congress deserves to be graded zero for their governance in Rajasthan. The people of Rajasthan have made a decisive choice to remove the Gehlot government and reinstall the BJP,” PM Modi declared.
He went on to emphasize that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s Congress government had squandered five crucial years for the youth of Rajasthan.
“I can unmistakably discern the transformation that will sweep Rajasthan due to our ‘Parivartan Yatra.’ This statewide march for change garnered substantial support from the public. The admiration and affection we received from the people during the Yatra themselves reflect the shifting political winds in the state,” PM Modi added.
PM Modi also pointed to the success of the G20 summit hosted by New Delhi during India’s presidency of the grouping. He highlighted that countries not aligned with New Delhi were left astonished by the summit’s accomplishments.
Rajasthan is one of five states, alongside Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Mizoram, slated to hold assembly elections later this year.
In the 2018 Assembly elections, the Congress emerged as the largest single party, securing 99 seats, while the BJP closely followed with 73 seats in the 200-member assembly. The Congress, led by Ashok Gehlot, formed the government with the support of independent legislators and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
