Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the ongoing Amrit Mahotsav as a gateway for India to embark on a transformative era akin to the spirit witnessed during the country’s independence struggle. Speaking at the inauguration of the renovated Kochrab Ashram, PM Modi emphasized the significance of the Sabarmati Ashram in preserving Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals and fostering a sense of national unity.
PM Modi underscored the resonance of Bapu’s values of truth, nonviolence, and service to the nation at the Sabarmati Ashram, which has served as a beacon of inspiration for generations. He lauded the Amrit Mahotsav for galvanizing over three crore people to reaffirm their commitment to the nation during the Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal program.
Highlighting various initiatives undertaken during the Amrit Kaal, PM Modi outlined the planting of over two crore saplings, the creation of over 70,000 water conservation reservoirs, and campaigns like Har Ghar Tiranga and Meri Mati Mera Desh, which celebrated national pride and paid homage to freedom fighters.
PM Modi stressed the importance of preserving India’s heritage, citing the neglected state of the Sabarmati Ashram and the collective responsibility of all Indians to safeguard such historic sites. He commended the efforts to reclaim land for projects like Kashi Vishwanath Dham and the expansion of Shri Ram Janambhoomi, which have attracted millions of devotees.
Inaugurating the redeveloped Kochrab Ashram and launching the Master plan of the Gandhi Ashram Memorial, PM Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to preserving India’s cultural heritage and fostering a spirit of national rejuvenation.
