Union Home Minister Amit Shah also commended Kusale, calling his victory an inspiring example. “Proud of you, Swapnil Kusale, for winning the bronze medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men’s Final at the #ParisOlympics2024. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya expressed national pride in Kusale’s achievement. “Congratulations to Swapnil Kusale for winning a historic bronze medal in the Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions at the #ParisOlympics2024! As the first Indian to win a medal in this event, your achievement makes us incredibly proud,” Mandaviya posted on X.
Earlier in the day, Swapnil Kusale clinched the bronze medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3P event, finishing third with an aggregate of 451.4 points. He is the first Indian shooter to win a medal in this category, marking India’s third medal in shooting at the Paris Olympics.
In the qualification round, Kusale finished seventh, securing his place in the final, while his fellow shooter Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar ranked 11th and did not advance to the final. Kusale’s medal win highlights his exceptional performance and marks a significant milestone in Indian shooting sports.
