PM Modi Announces 75,000 New Medical Seats On Independence Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced today that India will add nearly 75,000 new medical seats over the next five years.

“In the past decade, we have created nearly 100,000 medical seats. Each year, around 25,000 young people travel abroad for medical education, often to destinations that surprise me. To address this, we are committed to creating 75,000 additional medical seats within the next five years,” Modi said in his address to the nation.

He also highlighted recent expansions in the country’s healthcare infrastructure. “We have increased the number of hospitals and expanded the availability of medical seats to help more aspiring doctors achieve their dreams. Our goal is to improve health infrastructure and ensure that more of our youth can contribute to the nation as medical professionals,” he added.
