“Congress must answer on links to Dubai”: PM Modi attacks Baghel after ED linked him to betting app deal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel during a rally in Durg, following Baghel’s alleged involvement in a betting app deal. PM Modi accused the Congress of taking every opportunity to plunder the people of Chhattisgarh.

He referenced a recent operation in Raipur where a significant cache of currency notes was discovered, allegedly belonging to gamblers and those placing bets. The PM stated that Congress leaders are suspected of accumulating this ill-gotten wealth, emphasizing that the public needs to be informed about the links between the state government and individuals in Dubai implicated in the scam.

PM Modi vowed that agencies would investigate all scams in the state, promising that action would be taken against those who have looted Chhattisgarh. He listed various scams, including a liquor scam of Rs 2,000 crore, a cement scam of Rs 500 crore, a rice scam of Rs 5,000 crore, and more, alleging that the Congress government had broken the people’s trust with one scam after another.

The Prime Minister accused the Congress of prioritizing jobs for leaders’ relatives while sidelining the public from employment opportunities. He promised to shape Chhattisgarh if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is voted into power and congratulated the state BJP unit for releasing their manifesto, emphasizing the BJP’s track record of fulfilling promises.

The Chhattisgarh Assembly elections are scheduled in two phases, with the first phase for 20 seats on November 7 and the remaining 70 seats on November 17, followed by vote counting on December 3.
