Modi praised Shyamji Krishna Varma’s relentless spirit and commitment to freedom, emphasizing his pivotal role in establishing India House, which became a hub for the overseas freedom movement.

“Remembering the esteemed Shyamji Krishna Varma on his Punya Tithi. A prominent figure in India’s fight for independence, his resolute spirit and dedication to freedom will always be remembered. Through India House, he provided vital support to the freedom movement abroad. As we honor his legacy, let us reaffirm our commitment to his cherished ideals,” posted the Prime Minister on social media platform X.

Shyamji Krishna Varma, born in Gujarat, was a renowned freedom fighter who initiated the Indian Home Rule Society, founded The Indian Sociologist, and established India House in London.
