PM Modi Criticizes Rahul Gandhi’s Comments at Uttarakhand Rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first visit to Uttarakhand since the passage of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill in the state Assembly, launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a rally in Rudrapur. Referring to Gandhi as the scion of the royal Congress family, PM Modi criticized the party’s rhetoric of “setting the nation ablaze.”

“The prince of the royal Congress family has declared that if the country elects Modi for a third term, the country will go up in flames. Those who ruled the country for 60 years and have been out of power for only 10 are now talking about setting the country on fire. Wouldn’t you all give a befitting reply to such people? This time, don’t even allow them in the field of battle,” PM Modi asserted.

Highlighting Congress’s alleged appeasement policies, PM Modi accused the party of neglecting national interests and turning a blind eye to infiltrators. He contrasted BJP’s stance on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which aimed to grant citizenship to persecuted minorities, with Congress’s opposition to it.

Further, PM Modi condemned Congress for its lack of faith in democracy, citing Karnataka Congress leader DK Suresh Kumar’s controversial remarks about splitting the country into two parts due to alleged fiscal injustice towards southern states.

“Congress doesn’t have faith in democracy now. They want to push towards anarchy and instability. In Karnataka, a Congress leader spoke about splitting the country into two parts. Shouldn’t those who talk about dividing the country be punished?” PM Modi questioned.

Uttarakhand, with its five Lok Sabha seats, has emerged as a significant battleground for both BJP and Congress. While BJP has historically dominated the state, Congress remains a formidable contender. The upcoming elections on April 19 will witness a fierce competition between the two parties.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, rallying alongside PM Modi, expressed confidence in BJP’s victory, aiming for over 400 seats nationally. He also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi, criticizing Congress’s repeated failed attempts to propel him into leadership.

“India has made history by reaching the South Pole of the Moon. But Congress keeps making failed attempts to launch its ‘Rajkumar’. When Modi ji says, ‘Bhrashtachar mitao,’ then Congress says, ‘Modi ko mitao aur Gandhi parivar ko bachao.’ Is this right?” Dhami remarked.
